Sleek face form palette

I've been looking for a contour palette for awhile now, and I had my eyes set on the Sleek contour palette but I couldn't find it in Superdrug or Boots, so I got the face form palette instead, which has a blush added, unlike the contour palette which only has the contour powder and highlighter. I am so happy that I did. The palette costs £9.99, which is cheap for three products!
The packaging is very sleek

The shade of the blush is like a dupe of NARS' Orgasm blush: rose-gold and very very pretty. I am not too fond of the highlighter as sometimes it can make my skin look too shiny when I'm all about the matte look.
This is just one swipe across the palette onto my wrist. As you can see, the contour is the most pigmented compared to the highlighter and blusher. They blend really well and it's easy to buff the contour shade onto your skin.

Here I am using the blush and contour, I did not want to go full Kim Kardashian-contour, instead I wanted something a bit more subtle for work.

It's World Baking Day!

I usually always bake on Sunday, and this Sunday happens to be World Baking Day. Today I baked for my family. My mom bought me some bundt cake tins so I put them to use and made a pandan chiffon cake, one of our favourite cakes. A chiffon cake is a very light textured cake, with hardly any crumbs. Pandan is a tropical plant found in Asia, and the flavour and smell is very similar to coconut. I made a coconut buttercream for the filling too. The filling really brings the cake together!

Today I...

I had a very rubbish night of sleep, waking up around 3ish, checking Instagram because I was wide-awake, and my sister messages me telling me to go to sleep. She must have been checking Instagram too to see that I was awake and liking things! (She lives in Australia) Anyway, I had to be at work for 11am so I tried my best to fall back to sleep but it wasn't working well.

I woke up to blue skies and hardly any clouds and I just knew it'd be super sunny. Unfortunately I'd be spending most of the day at work...This is what I chose to wear to work:

When I finally finished, there was a box of nail polishes that I had ordered, so I quickly painted my nails in Essie's Pink About it & ate an ice cream in the remainder of the sun.

I helped make dinner, which was purple mash potatoes, sausages, carrots and peas. I am now patiently waiting for Britain's Got Talent after watching the last half of the FA Cup Final.

So even though I didn't get to laze about in the sun like everybody else, I still managed to go outside and enjoy some sunshine. Next week it's supposed to be all rain and no sunshine!

Maybelline The Collosal Go Extreme Mascara review

This mascara is my new favourite mascara in the whole wide world. I've been using Mac's Opulash mascara which is very good but way too expensive for a mascara (I got it as a gift!) I got the Go Extreme mascara while it was on offer at Superdrug, I also got the waterproof version but I haven't tested that one out yet.
Maybelline The Collosal Go Extreme, £6.99

This mascara wand is a bit different, they claim "Our first double curved stem is designed to deposit an extra shot of volume onto the supersized brush." I don't know whether that can be proved or not, but this is what the wand looks like:

I have very straight, short eye lashes, and normally if I have time I would curl my eyelashes before using mascara, however, with this Go Extreme mascara I didn't need to.
I'll let the pictures do the talking:

Look at that! One coat of Go Extreme mascara lifted my eyelashes and gave them so much volume without using eyelash curlers!
I do have some problems with this mascara:
  1. Sometimes the massive brush hits my eyelid, but it's nothing a cotton bud can't fix.
  2. Sometimes the mascara can transfer onto my skin if i'm having a horrible oily skin day.
Overall, I would definitely purchase this mascara again, I have always been a fan of Maybelline's mascaras and they only seem to get better.

I love Sundays!

Sundays are made for reading magazines, painting nails, baking sweet treats and dog cuddles.
I bought the latest issues of Glamour, Cosmopolitan & Company magazine mainly because they're the June issue, which is my birthday month! And because I didn't buy any magazines last month... I love the summer editions of magazines.

I've been craving these ever since my trip to Malaysia last September, where I had them everyday at breakfast. I haven't bought any since, as they're quite pricey for what they are. So I found a recipe and made them myself. I didn't have the proper tart cases so I used a bun tin instead. My mom thought the pastry was a bit too thick and I think I might try using ready-made puff pastry instead.

I love my little Freddie so much! While watching Sunday Brunch he sat next to me, so I 'trapped' him with my legs. He loves his belly rubs.

What are you doing this Sunday?

I finished my dissertation!

Hello everyone! I'm back! I am so done with university. I have been working on my dissertation and juggling my job, so a lot of things have been put on hold. Anyway, after I handed in my dissertation, Beau and I walked along the Thames, doing some sightseeing stuff, even though we've already seen the sights before. It was a really nice sunny day despite being stuck behind a lot of tourists.

Walking along the Thames towards Southbank, we went towards E4's Udderbelly site where we were greeted with a giant purple cow:

Strolling past the London Eye, we took a quick trip to Namco's arcade centre. We didn't play any games but I did get a fortune by Zultar:
It was a nice fortune to get especially after handing in my dissertation.
Along the walk to Covent Garden we got stopped for a free sample of frozen yogurt by Snog, but by sample, it was literally a McDonald's sized paper sauce pot. I felt a bit pressured to buy one, being naive and not realising the free sample I was given was the tiny pot. Anyway, it was nice, and I guess, a treat to myself for finishing university. I got the passion fruit frozen yogurt with mango pieces.

We headed towards Covent Garden to have a look at the markets, and then headed to Wahaca's for our dinner:

I ordered the chicken tinga burrito, and Beau had the pulled pork burrito. We halved our burritos and swapped with each other. The burritos were so nice! It had the perfect amount of filling and wasn't dry or too spicy.

I really do miss living in London, but I am much happier back in Birmingham.
